Experience
Some of the most impactful experiences I've had have been centered around service. Alternative Seasonal Breaks is a student-run organization at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign that sends service trips across the country. Illini 4000 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, student-run organization that bikes from New York City to San Francisco every sunmmer to raise money for cancer research and patient support services, and I was fortunate enough to ride with the 2017 Bike America Team. The United States Peace Corps has been sending volunteers to countries who have requested a volunteer presence since 1962 and promotes cultural exchange in addition to service. These experiences have shaped the way I view the world and my approach to service, public health, and nutrition. Take a look!
